In between several CD recordings Valdemar will focus mainly on oratorios this winter – first and foremost Christmas Oratorios. He appears as the Evangelist in Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium (Christmas Oratorio) in Berlin and later he will be the tenor soloist in Saint-Säens’ Christmas Oratorio near Basel. But before the Christmas Oratorio season starts, Valdemar will in November appear as the angel Uriel in Haydn’s Die Schöpfung (The Creation) in concerts in Copenhagen and Elsinore and it will be the first time he sings this part.    

This summer Valdemar will appear in the theatre concert Shakespeare in Concert 2018 at the famous Shakespeare Festival at Hamlet’s castle Kronborg in Elsinore, Denmark. The performance will explore the fabulous univers of Shakespeare while enlighting it with music. Valdemar will be singing music by John Dowland, Claudio Monteverdi and G.F. Handel. This spring Valdemar will appear in Bach concerts in the Northern Hemisphere. First he will be the tenor soloist in Bach’s Magnificat with the excellent Norwegian baroque orchestra Barokkanerne at concerts in Oslo Cathedral and in Fredrikstad in Norway. Acclaimed baroque violonist and conductor Peter Spissky (concertmaster in Concerto Copenhagen) is the leader of the new, inventive and energetic baroque ensemble Camerata Oresund. Valdemar appears in a concert with the Concerto Copenhagen in Rome with music by Italian baroque composer Giuseppe Sarti. Sarti worked all across Europe including Denmark and he wrote several operas in Danish. Valdemar is facing a many-colored and artistically diverse autumn, in which he’s going to appear in Bach’s Mass in B minor in Essen, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana in Norway, a Giuseppe Sarti concert in Rome with Concerto Copenhagen and a CD recording in Berlin. Valdemar returns to Essen where he last year sang the Evangelist in Bach’s St Matthew Passion (Matthäus-Passion) – a performance that was extremely well received by the critics.
